Here’s some photos from Christmas!
So nice that most of the family came to Boston for a visit.
The Kwiks came the weekend of the 22nd. So nice to finally all be together (we figured it hadn’t been since Jason & Hai got married in 2006!). Brandon was very sweet with Cadence. Jade is having a girl in May and we’re all excited to continue the tradition of dressing the kids alike.
Yesterday we had our appointment with nurse Elaine Dors. Said our baby was perfect! Though she was judgmental about the whole co-sleep thing (Adam lied to her).
Adam thought Cadence would weigh in at 9 lbs 2 ounces; I thought around 10. She was 10 lbs 11.3 oz (85%); height 22″ (86%); height circumference 38.5 cm (93%).
She’s definitely been feeling heavier…

Ended the year with a trip to the children’s museum with my cousins!
We had our first doc visit w/ Dr. Hess 11/9. Took us awhile to get out the door! It’s weird to write Cadence Gendreau -it’s so real but at the same time surreal. Her height was measured as 21″ (89%), weight 7.2 (28%), head 36 cm (70%). Visit mostly covered in a diff post…
Second visit was with nurse Judy Peka. Cadence was up to 7 lbs 15 ounces! Other measurements the same.
I had my visit with Dr. Navathe – I’ve lost most of my baby weight – still have ~5 lbs more. & my all body rash was probably an allergic reaction to penicilin. Awesome. I saw about 5 different people and went to Internal Medicine after OB. They were fascinated with my rash which seemed to start from my feet and go up my body. Located on my inner calves, stomach, breast & back. Speaking to Nadia, she experienced something similar. So many weird/awful pregnancy/postpartum things that no one tells you about. =\
Some changes now that Cadence is three weeks old! She seems more settled and is sleeping longer. And I’ve been able to put her down while she naps (before she’d wake up after like 5 minutes. It’s so nice having 2 hands free. I did the laundry and dishes today!). She still gets fussy over wet diapers & fidgets while she poops/passes gas. She’s been talking more. She likes to be awake from 10 pm – 1am -ish; right when Adam & I are ready for bed. She gets somewhat fussy during that time. Where’s Paw Paw when you need her?
Adam & I have noticed our little chubbos is feeling heavier & more substantial. Her weight gain no longer feels like it’s just cheek. I tried weighing myself with and without her – she may be close to 9 lbs! She poops a lot and hates to have her wet diapers changed (or made).
And she started spitting up this week. Luckily, not projectile (like Auntie Stephanos).
She makes these weird noises that sound like a gremlin. so cute.
Like most parents, we think Cadence is ahead of the curve. We’re always remarking on how strong she is (able to hold up her head quite a bit). She gets that from her mommy. 😉
