Cadence had her 6 month appointment 5/31. She’s now in the 72% by height and 87% by weight (82% by head circumference as well). The nurse said she could pretty much eat anything & ethnic people tend to give stews mashed up to their babies. Adam thought she was being racist – I liked the acknowledgement that not all babies are given baby food & that’s ok! She had 4 shots. Poor baby.

on the way to the doc… The little buglets that Celeste, Matt and Dylan got us worked well. Cadence was entranced and kept smiling at them.January 17th we had Cadence’s two month doctor’s visit. Dr. Hess said Cadence was doing well. She still has a cold but doc says her lungs sounded good. Phew. The office was filled with people with the flu. Awesome.

Cadence is now 24″, 14 lbs 0.5 oz with a head circumference of 40.5 cm.  For those nerdy people (like me!) who want to see her growth in a chart/graph: Cadence’s weight height head. Cadence is in the 88.8% for height, 87.4% for weight and 89.6% for head circumference. We have a big girl on our hands (and I can feel it in my back and shoulders. what a porkie baby!)! I thought she was going to be over 15, Adam thought under.

Cadence got immunized for DTAP, Hep B, IPV (Pediarix), Hflu B, pneumococ/conjugate and rotavirus. Three shots and one drink! She didn’t like the drink at all (seemed to fuss more over that then the shots). The nurse was very quick. She was worried that Cadence would pass out – her lips turned blue with the screaming. She told Adam to blow in her mouth which confused us both. Luckily, she didn’t pass out. Adam picked her up afterwards and she calmed down. She took it like a Chin and promptly fell asleep. The rest of the day she wasn’t too fussy; she was super tired and slept from 6.30 onward. She didn’t want to be put down so I held her all day. Seems fair since she had such a traumatic day. What a good baby…

Yesterday we had our appointment with nurse Elaine Dors. Said our baby was perfect! Though she was judgmental about the whole co-sleep thing (Adam lied to her).

Adam thought Cadence would weigh in at 9 lbs 2 ounces; I thought around 10. She was 10 lbs 11.3 oz (85%); height 22″ (86%); height circumference 38.5 cm (93%).

She’s definitely been feeling heavier…

We had our first doc visit w/ Dr. Hess 11/9. Took us awhile to get out the door! It’s weird to write Cadence Gendreau -it’s so real but at the same time surreal. Her height was measured as 21″ (89%), weight 7.2 (28%), head 36 cm (70%). Visit mostly covered in a diff post…

Second visit was with nurse Judy Peka. Cadence was up to 7 lbs 15 ounces! Other measurements the same.

I had my visit with Dr. Navathe – I’ve lost most of my baby weight – still have ~5 lbs more. &  my all body rash was probably an allergic reaction to penicilin. Awesome. I saw about 5 different people and went to Internal Medicine after OB. They were fascinated with my rash which seemed to start from my feet and go up my body. Located on my inner calves, stomach, breast & back. Speaking to Nadia, she experienced something similar. So many weird/awful pregnancy/postpartum things that no one tells you about. =\

Appointment went well. Crystal said Cadence is head down & low. I’m on target as far as uterus size (39 weeks). I’ve gained 31 lbs so far & have been really hungry!!!

Cadence has been moving a ton recently & I have had more discomfort as far as Braxton Hicks.

If CJ doesn’t come on her own, I’ll be induced Nov 13th (my paternal grandmother  and cousin Jade’s bday!) and probably will deliver on Nov 15th.

We didn’t do a cervix check which is supposed to be uncomfortable & wouldn’t change anything.

I don’t like that it could be any day! Hurricane Sandy’s supposed to hit early next week – Dad asked what we’d do if I have to get to the hospital – I said pray!

I went to the doc on Thursday – everything continues to be good. Dr. Navathe asked me who I thought Cadence would look like – I told her my dream of having a red headed kid with blue eyes & freckles. She was excited to see Cadence, being a mixed baby. We did an ultrasound b/c I asked if CJ was head down which was cool (saw her melon head and reptilian spine). Doc didn’t say anything about size or when I may delivery – she said she could check my cervix if I want but I’m going to avoid the discomfort until I get closer.

If I don’t start feeling more contractions soon we’ll have to start discussing next steps soon. Getting close!

And surprised I’m still gaining weight. Haven’t really felt (except for the one week where she was super hard about 2 weeks ago) a lack of space for food or air. Continue to sleep well and feel mostly good. Biggest pain is the swollen hand and feet. I need foot massages… 🙂

had the 34 week visit on Friday. CJ’s heartbeat sounded good – she was in the 130s. she kept moving away from Crystal (our midwife).

tracking bigger (again!) @ 36 cms – so Crystal wants to take a look next time I go in. She says this could be caused by stretching or fluids & not to be concerned.

speaking of tracking big – this random guy at the Big E told me I looked like I was going to deliver tomorrow. =\

had the 32 week visit. cadence sounded good – heartbeat high 130s, low 140s.

i’m at the same weight as last visit and 33 cms (bigger than normal!!!).

on a side note, CJ moves a lot on the T!

everything continues to sound good – except, i gained more weight than i should (up 4 lbs in 2 weeks!). uterus growing at the correct pace at 30 cm. baby’s moving along – she’s gotten much stronger & i can pretty much feel her dancing around all day.
